The chance to secure a well-related filly by Decorated Knight arises at the Goffs February Sale, set for Tuesday to Thursday next week.

Lot 395 is particularly well-bred as a daughter of the brilliant sprinter Gilt Edge Girl. The tough daughter of Monsieur Bond captured three stakes races for Clive Cox, notably the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp by an authoritative length and Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes, again won in impressive style.

This is a fast family that owes much of its success to the management of the Aga Khan Studs before faring well in the hands of Downclose and Whitsbury Manor Studs. Gilt Edge Girl herself is a half-sister to the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes winner Godfrey Street and to the dam of Group 3-winning two-year-old Streamline, and has gone on to maintain that successful tradition at stud as the dam of Listed scorer Time’s Arrow.

In addition, Gilt Edge Girl’s two-year-old by Saxon Warrior realised €270,000 as a yearling to MV Magnier and is in training with Aidan O’Brien.

This filly is bred on a variation of the wildly successful Galileo – Danehill cross and will be offered by the Irish National Stud. To view her pedigree, CLICK HERE.

Catalogued as Lot 145 is a Decorated Knight filly bred along the same Danehill lines. She is a three-parts sister to the Group 3-placed Marksmanship and to the dam of the Listed-placed Model, and out of Listed Silver Flash Stakes winner Maroochydore.

She will be offered as Lot 145 by The Castlebridge Consignment. To view her pedigree, CLICK HERE.

Rounding out the trio of Decorated Knight fillies catalogued is Lot 388, a relation to Classic winner and leading sire Lope De Vega. Offered by Collegelands Stud, she is out of the placed For The Roses, a daughter of Nathaniel – this filly possesses interesting 2×3 inbreeding to Galileo, a pattern that is also found in the background of Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Mac Swiney.
