A fee of €9,000 has been set for our multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight in 2020.

Our homebred son of Galileo, a close relation to Champion sire Giant’s Causeway, stands at the Irish National Stud.

He won eight races including the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup, Group 1 Jebel Hatta and Group 3 Meld Stakes. He was also second in the Group 1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes.

Decorated Knight was exceptionally well supported in his first year at stud, covering such mares as NOURIYA, a dual Listed winner who is the dam of Group 2 winner Aljazzi, PRINCESS NOOR, the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes winner who also ran 2nd in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes, SHADEN, winner of the Group 3 Firth Of Clyde Stakes, LADY WINGSHOT, winner of the Group 3 Fairy Bridge Stakes, DAWN OF HOPE, Listed winner and Group-placed, and ARWA, a winning half-sister to Champion Order Of St George.

He covered another good book in 2019, including the Group-placed MID MON LADY and MINOR VAMP and stakes producers COMNENA, CRYSTAL VIEW, HUGS ‘N KISSES, KATCH ME KATIE, MEIOSIS, MELAAYA, RAYDANIYA and SET FIRE.

Blue Diamond Stud also again supported him strongly, sending the likes of the Group 1-placed PRINCESS LOULOU, the aforementioned ARWA, Mastercraftsman’s sister MAID TO MASTER, stakes producer EPIPHANY and Cable Bay’s half-sister MAY ROSE.

A tough, sound son of Galileo gifted with an exceptional turn of foot, Decorated Knight is the first foal out of Pearling, a daughter of blue hen Mariah’s Storm and therefore a sister to Giant’s Causeway, a 3-time North American champion sire, and Freud, a multiple champion sire in New York, the sire of three Grade 1 winners.

Not only that, another sibling, Group 2 winner You’resothrilling, is the dam of Group 1 winners Gleneagles (currently a leading first-crop sire), Marvellous and Happily, all of whom are by Galileo.

Bred on the same Galileo – Storm Cat cross as Group 1-winning 2yos Ballydoyle, Churchill, Gleneagles, Happily and Misty For Me, Decorated Knight descends directly from Harry Isaacs’ wonderful mare Itsabet, who is also the ancestress of Group 1-producing sires Dansili, Cacique, Champs Elysees, Leroidesanimaux and Ideal World.
