Decorated Knight settling in well at the Irish National Stud
22 December 2017
Decorated Knight looked a picture at the Irish National Stud on Thursday.
Part-owner Imad Al Sagar, who bred the colt with Saleh Al Homaizi, took time to visit his homebred multiple Group 1 winner, who will stand his first season at the Irish National for €15,000.
Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar bred Decorated Knight out of Pearling, a sister to champion American sire Giant’s Causeway bought by Tony Nerses at Tattersalls in December 2011.
Decorated Knight won eight races including the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, in which he beat Churchill and Eminent, Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup and Group 1 Jebel Hatta. The son of Galileo retires to stud as the earner of over £1.3 million.
Mares set to visit Decorated Knight next season include:
PRINCESS NOOR: winner of the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes and second in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes
DAWN OF HOPE: Listed-winning daughter of Mastercraftsman
NOURIYA: a dual Listed winner, she is the dam of this season’s Group 3 Atalanta Stakes winner Aljazzi
SHADEN: winner of the Group 3 Firth Of Clyde Stakes
MAID TO MASTER: a sister to multiple Group 1 winner and leading sire Mastercraftsman
