Kind Gesture, bred by Blue Diamond Stud and gifted by Imad Al Sagar to Prince A A Faisal, continued an excellent weekend for Decorated Knight on Sunday when running away with the mile novice at Windsor.

Never challenged in the hands of David Egan, the filly won easing down by ten lengths to make it two wins in three starts for Roger Varian.

In the process, she became the second wide-margin winner in as many days for Decorated Knight after Ferrari Queen, who went into many notebooks when the six-length winner of her debut at Doncaster on Saturday evening. Like Kind Gesture, she was also ridden by David Egan.

Kind Gesture’s progression continues the purple patch enjoyed by Decorated Knight, for whom the past month has featured promising wins by Knight Of Honour, who won easily in good company at Goodwood for John and Thady Gosden, Charming Knight, successful in the Danish 2,000 Guineas, and Shahnaz, a winner for Gemma Tutty at Hamilton Park in addition to Ferrari Queen.

Her success also consolidates a swift start to the stud career of our classy Mastercraftsman mare Dawn Of Hope; she is the first foal out of the mare, who carried our colours to success in the Listed Prix Petite Etoile at Deauville. Also Group 3-placed, Dawn Of Hope is a half-sister to Ayrad, a multiple Listed winner for us, and from the further family of top sprinters Stravinsky and Dowsing.

Dawn Of Hope also has a two-year-old Kingman colt named Variable Cost in training in the US, a yearling colt by Invincible Spirit and a filly foal by Sea The Stars. She is in foal to Pinatubo.

Her yearling Invincible Spirit colt is catalogued as Lot 252 at the upcoming Arqana August Yearling Sale.
