Colts by The Gurkha and Ajaya among new arrivals

28 February 2018

Our colt by The Gurkha enjoying life

Another cracker by Ajaya and a striking colt by The Gurkha were among the wave of recent arrivals at Blue Diamond Stud.

The Gurkha colt, who is from the first crop of his Classic-winning sire, is the fourth foal out of Bouyrin, a winning Invincible Spirit half-sister to Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes winner Alsindi. It’s a quick family – her dam Needles And Pins won the Listed St Hugh’s Stakes – and one that should complement The Gurkha well.

Bouyrin forms part of our strong squad heading to Decorated Knight in 2018.

Also heading to Decorated Knight is Zari, a winning Azamour half-sister to last year’s classy Italian two-year-old Vik The Billy. The pair were bred by Blue Diamond Stud out of foundation mare Epiphany and hails from the family of Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Indian Haven.

Zari recently foaled a good colt by the Dewhurst Stakes winner War Command.

This year’s Valentines baby was the Ajaya colt out of Buredyma, a three-time winner by Dutch Art. Buredyma’s first foal, a colt by Charm Spirit, is with Gordon Elliott and she has a yearling filly by Sayif to follow.

Such is the quality of her Ajaya colt that Buredyma returns to the Gimcrack Stakes winner this season.

We now have three Ajaya foals on the ground and we are thrilled with each of them.

We also continue to support our Champion Derby winner Authorized, now a Group 1 sire, and are very pleased with his colt produced by Bella Lulu.

The winning Bella Lulu, by Iffraaj, is another mare from an established Blue Diamond family as a daughter of Listed winner Loulwa, also the dam of our lightening fast sprinter Justineo.

Bella Lulu’s first foal is a yearling colt by Golden Horn and she now visits Muhaarar.
