We are delighted to see that Decorated Knight is set to be well represented at the Goffs Orby Sale in Doncaster on October 1 – 2.

Our multiple Group 1-winning son of Galileo has six representatives catalogued; four colts and two fillies.

They include a colt (Lot 220) out of the Irish National Stud’s excellent producer Katch Me Katie. The daughter of Danehill has already bred six winners including the high-class stayer Nearly Caught – by Galileo’s son New Approach – and the Group 1-placed, Group 2 winner Pale Mimosa.

The Irish National Stud also sends through Lot 307, a colt out of the Listed-placed Neuquen who is from the excellent Wertheimer family of Vallee Dansante.

Kilcarn Park’s representative is Lot 266, a half-brother to stakes winner Exclusive Potion. Out of the Marju mare Magic Noire, he is also related to the tough Group 1 performers Divisidero and Zindabad.

The quartet of colts is rounded out by a half-brother to the stakes-placed Courageous (Lot 47) out of the prolific Sri Pekan mare Bella Bella from Oaks Farm Stables. The colt was a €38,000 pinhook as a foal by Willie Browne’s Jamie B Bloodstock.

Tinnakill House send through a well-related filly out of Fol O’Yasmine (Lot 158). The second foal out of a winning daughter of Dubawi, she hails from a family that is fondly known at Blue Diamond Stud; her granddam is none other than Sewards Folly, dam of our high-class sprinter Sayif.

Last but certainly not least is Lot 284 from Hollyhill Stud. She boasts excellent connections as a half-sister to Listed winner Kilimanjaro and a daughter of Middle Persia, herself a Dalakhani half-sister to champion Nayarra, Group 1 performer Gustav Klimt and fellow stakes winners Wonderfully, Mars, Blissful and Cuff. Her third dam is the Prix de Diane heroine Rafha, thereby also making her a relation to Invincible Spirit and Kodiac.

Decorated Knight’s first foals were extremely well received last year, selling for up to 190,000gns. The colt in question is out of Group 3 winner Princess Noor and was bought by Jamie Railton at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale.

Decorated Knight’s foals also sold for up to €66,000 at the Goffs November Sale.

Decorated Knight won eight races including the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup and Group 1 Jebel Hatta. By Galileo, he is out of Pearling, a sister to Giant’s Causeway.

“I have complete belief in Decorated Knight,” Imad Al Sagar explained to the Racing Post last November. “He’s a very special horse with a very special pedigree – his close relation Gleneagles is one of the most successful progeny of Galileo so it’s a stallion’s family.

“I myself have sent him 28 mares and we have some very nice foals. You can see his stamp on them – they’re similar to what he was like as a foal.  

“If I don’t believe in him, why should others? Now I have to choose the trainers carefully to give him the maximum possibility of success.”
