Decorated Knight hit Classic heights with his first crop on Saturday as the sire of the Danish 2,000 Guineas hero Charming Knight.

Trained by Brian Wilson on behalf of Maria Westman, Charming Knight has developed into a consistent and smart performer in his brief career to date. In search of his fourth win on Saturday, he took the step up in grade in his stride, making smooth headway on the outer under Oliver Wilson to overwhelm the leader and kick clear under hands and heels for an authoritative win.

Charming Knight was bred in Denmark by Bechmann Racing and is the first foal out of the Blue Diamond Stud-bred mare Charming Loza, a daughter of Lawman from the family of the Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Just The Judge.

Incidentally, Charming Knight was the first ever foal born by Decorated Knight when foaled at Bechmann Stud on January 16, 2019.

Multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight has made a bright start with his first crop as the sire of an array of smart winners on turf and dirt, among them those in Britain, Ireland, France, Poland and Saudi Arabia in addition to Denmark. The beautifully bred son of Galileo stands at the Irish National Stud.
