Brave Irish 2,000 Guineas third for BDS-bred Hotazhell

Hotazhell, bred and sold by Blue Diamond Stud, made a superb return to action for Silverton Hill LLC and Jessica Harrington when third in the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Saturday.
Hotazhell had a brilliant season at two, winning the Group 1 Futurity Stakes, Group 2 Beresford Stakes and Group 3 Tyros Stakes. Having missed his original three-year-old debut due to fast ground in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains, he was up against some race fit rivals on Saturday in the Irish 2,000 Guineas but showed all his usual tenacity to run a game third behind Field Of Gold and Cosmic Year.
Hotazhell was bred by Blue Diamond Stud out of our homebred Danehill Dancer mare Azenzar. He was sold by us at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Sale to Eddie Linehan of Lackendarra Stables, who resold him as a Tattersalls Craven breezer to current connections.
