Borak scores at Doncaster; more black-type for Justineo

Borak became the latest runner to carry the colours of Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar to victory when successful at Doncaster on Sunday.
Trained by Marco Botti, Borak had been placed on three of his previous four starts and showed a good attitude to repel Shaw Thing and break his maiden – despite jockey Daniel Muscutt losing his whip inside the final furlong.

“Borak did well to win because I lost my whip – Hayley (Turner) flicked it out of my hand about a furlong out,” Muscutt told the Racing Post.
The son of Kodiac was bought by Tony Nerses as a yearling for 130,000gns at Book 2 of the 2013 Tattersalls October Sale. Bred by Tom Kelly, he is a half-brother to the Group 3-placed Choose Wisely and out of the Imperial Ballet mare Right After Moyne.
Also on Sunday, classy homebred Justineo ran a good second to Absolutely So in the Listed Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury. His run came on the same card that his three-year-old half-sister, Bella Lulu, ran second in the mile maiden on her seasonal debut. The pair pulled six lengths clear of the third and her turn shouldn’t be long in coming.
