Ajaya: his dam Nessina has foaled a filly by Dansili

A half-sister to last year’s homebred Gimcrack Stakes winner Ajaya is among the exciting recent new arrivals at Blue Diamond Stud.

The classy filly is a daughter of Dansili and therefore bred along similar lines to her close relation, the high-class sprinter Bated Breath. She is the fourth foal out of Nessina, whose stud career got off to the best possible start last year when her first foal, Ajaya, captured the Gimcrack Stakes at York.

Nessina, a Hennessy half-sister to Listed winner Tantina (dam of Cityscape and Bated Breath), also has a two-year-old colt by Oasis Dream and a yearling colt by Mastercraftsman. She is set to visit Fastnet Rock next.

Nouriya: latest foal is a filly by Australia

Another special arrival is a filly out of Listed winner Nouriya, who was born on April 2. From the first crop of Australia, she is the fourth foal out of her dam, a daughter of the stud’s foundation mare Majestic Sakeena whose Shamardal filly Aljazzi was the impressive winner of her sole juvenile start at Newmarket last year.

Nouriya now heads to Frankel.

Another mare off to a fast start is Ellbeedee, whose first foal, Bournemouth Belle, ran third in last year’s Empress Stakes at Newmarket. Ellbeedee’s latest foal is a filly from the second crop of Intello, foaled on April 11.

Ellbeedee, a Dalakhani half-sister to American Grade 2 winner Uncharted Haven (granddam of Just The Judge), also has a yearling filly by Frankel on the ground and now visits Mastercraftsman.

Meanwhile, the stud welcomed a second foal from the first crop of Kingman in a colt out of Turama, a half-sister to Group 1 winner Spinning Queen.

Turama’s first foal is a two-year-old colt by Frankel named Zefferino in training with Roger Charlton. The daughter of Pivotal also has a yearling colt by Invincible Spirit and is booked to Dream Ahead.

Hopes will also be high for Loulwa’s latest colt by Oasis Dream. The flashy youngster, foaled on April 25, is a brother to our high-class sprinter Justineo, who remains in training this season with Robert Cowell. Listed winner Loulwa is booked to Oasis Dream’s outstanding son Muhaarar.

Oasis Dream is also the sire of a filly out of Sensiz, who was born several days later on April 30. She is the second foal out of her dam, a winning Marju daughter of the top-class two-year-old Much Faster who now visits Sepoy.

Early April saw two well-connected mares foal within a day of each other. Kingsgate Natives’s winning half-sister Native Picture gave birth to a striking colt by Lope De Vega and now heads to Ireland to visit Gleneagles, while Elvira Delight, a half-sister to Equiano, foaled a smart filly by Dark Angel. The winning daughter of Desert Style now heads to Canford Cliffs.

Dark Angel is also the sire of a colt out of Keep Dancing, a half-sister to Group 2 winner Alhebayeb whose first foal, the winning Special Season, kept good company as a juvenile last year. Keep Dancing will now be covered by Showcasing.

On what was a busy week for Blue Diamond, Luluti foaled a filly by Acclamation on April 2 and Dashing, a half-sister to champion Alexander Goldrun, foaled a colt by Mastercraftsman on April 5. Luluti now visits Kodiac while Dashing heads to Zoffany.
