Group 2 winner
Tariq was a prominent performer at Group level during four consecutive seasons for trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam.
A precocious colt, he won at the first time of asking at Newmarket before running Hellvelyn close when third in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The following year, he ran up a sequence of stakes successes starting with a victory in the Listed King Charles II Stakes at Newmarket.
He beat Group 1 performers such as U S Ranger and Strategic Prince when the easy winner of the Group 2 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot next time out and went on to defeat older horses in a strong renewal of the Group 2 Betfair Cup at Goodwood.
Tariq, a son of Kyllachy, stands at Equus Stud in India.
