BDS-bred Louganini wins again
16 March 2024
Louganini, a half-brother to our star mare Nashwa, again proved he is no back number on Friday with a wide-margin win over Calculation in the feature event at Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
A tough horse, Louganini was winning for the fourth time in Saudi Arabia for owners Fihan bin Faisal Almindeel Sons and for the seventh time overall. The son of Zoffany was formerly trained by Roger Charlton on behalf of Imad Al Sagar, in whose colours he won at Newmarket, Haydock (pictured) and Ascot.
Louganini is the first foal out of our Group 1-placed mare Princess Loulou, whose third foal is the multiple Group 1 winner Nashwa. Princess Loulou also has a three-year-old filly by Decorated Knight named Mesmerising and two-year-old colt by Dubawi. Like Nashwa, both are trained by John and Thady Gosden.
Louganini is the second winner bred this month by Blue Diamond Stud in Saudi Arabia after Emirates Currency, another tough customer who is out of Loulwa.
