BDS-bred Glory in Hong Kong

7 March 2021

Flagship Glory, formerly Establish, threw his hat into the ring for the Hong Kong Derby with a smooth success in the Hyacinth Handicap, a Class 3 event, at Sha Tin on Sunday.

Now trained by Frankie Lor, Flagship Glory showed a bright turn of foot to swoop on the leaders and win going away.

Flagship Glory was bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar out of fellow Blue Diamond-homebred Azenzar, by Danehill Dancer. He was a two-time winner last season for Roger Varian, notably when striking in a competitive handicap at Newmarket.

Azenzar was a winner for Blue Diamond Stud and is out of Dashing, a half-sister to the brilliant champion Alexander Goldrun, the winner of five Group 1 races, and the Classic-placed Medecis.

The mare has a two-year-old colt by No Nay Never called Rizg and in training with Roger Varian. She recently foaled a colt by U S Navy Flag and is booked back to Iffraaj.
