BDS-bred Clifton Down scores for Juddmonte

The stud celebrated another update on Tuesday when Clifton Down broke his maiden at Lyon-La-Soie.
Our congratulations go to owner Juddmonte Farms, to whom the son of Lope De Vega was gifted by Imad Alsagar.
Clifton Down has been a consistent performer for Francis-Henri Graffard, with an additional three placings to his credit in five starts. On Tuesday, he settled well for jockey Tony Piccone and having found a clear run through, quickened clear for a two-length success.
Clifton Down becomes the second winner from as many runners out of Star Of Bristol, our Speightstown half-sister to top miler and sire Mastercraftsman. It's an excellent family that has been enhanced in recent years by the achievements of Lingfield Oaks Trial heroine Sherbet Lemon and the Melbourne Cup third Il Paradiso.
Star Of Bristol also has a two-year-old colt by Decorated Knight and a yearling filly by Wootton Bassett. She is in foal to Saxon Warrior and currently resides in Kentucky ahead of a visit to Blame.
