BDS-bred becomes new winner for Sayif
14 December 2016
Sayif was represented by another winner on Wednesday when Sayem, a filly bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar at Blue Diamond Stud, won her second start at Lingfield for Ed Walker.
With the benefit of a previous run behind her, Sayem showed good pace to chase the leaders before taking up the running a furlong out and running on well to score by a length and a quarter from the favourite Ettu.
“Sayem has improved a lot in her work so we knew she would come on for her Kempton debut run,” said jockey Thomas Brown. “The step up to 7f helped and she has won well. Whatever she did this year she was going to improve next year.”
Sayem is the second foal out of Usem, who joined Blue Diamond Stud when purchased for 75,000gns as a foal by Tony Nerses. By Bahamian Bounty, she is out of Listed winner Ripples Maid, a half-sister to Horris Hill Stakes winner Peak To Creek.
Usem has a yearling filly by Sayif and is back in foal to our stallion.
