Back-to-back wins for Merlin The Wizard

Merlin The Wizard looked a potentially smart horse in the making on Sunday when making it back-to-back wins with a smooth victory at Ffos Las.
The Camelot gelding was sent off at short odds following his success in novice company at Kempton and didn't disappoint, swooping from the back under Hollie Doyle to win going away in a field of older horses.
"He did it really nicely," said Hollie Doyle. "He jumped a bit slow but they went a good gallop and I was happy to drop him in a bit. I switched out for a run, he went there on the bridle and quickened up well. He's really grown up, he didn't put a foot wrong today and definitely a horse going in the right direction."
Merlin The Wizard's win provides a quick and welcome start to the stud career of Sweet Gentle Kiss, a tough daughter of Henrythenavigator whose victories included the Group 3 Premio Dormello and Listed Premio Coolmore.
Sweet Gentle Kiss, a half-sister to Listed winner Sunset Key, has a two-year-old filly to follow by Decorated Knight, who has been retained and is also with Roger and Harry Charlton. She also has a yearling filly by Study Of Man, a filly foal by Sea The Moon and is in foal to Palace Pier.
