Hector Loza, bred by Blue Diamond Stud, bounced back to winning ways on Thursday evening with a wide-margin win for owner Robert Moss and new trainer Jim Boyle at Epsom.

A two-time winner who was highly tried as a two-year-old, the Kodiac gelding made all to win well under Jack Duern by a length-and-a-half.

Hector Loza is the second foal out of Queen Sarra, another bred at Blue Diamond Stud. By Shamardal, Queen Sarra is the sole foal out of the high-class racemare Grace O’Malley, whose three wins included two renewals of the Group 3 Noblesse Stakes at Cork.

Further back, it is the good Percy’s Lass family also responsible for Derby hero Sir Percy.

Queen Sarra also has a two-year-old filly by Decorated Knight named Dame Sarra. The mare was sold in 2021.
