Another impressive win for Ghalib
15 May 2015
Progressive sprinter Ghalib never came off the bridle to win his second race yesterday at Salisbury.
The three-year-old son of Lope De Vega, a half-brother to Harbour Watch bought by Tony Nerses for 150,000gns as a foal, merely had to be shaken up by George Baker to score by five lengths and make it two out of two since joining Ed Walker.
“We will have to see what the handicapper does, but something like the Reg Griffin at York [6f] might be a summer target,” Ed Walker told the Racing Post. “Ghalib might have to win again first to get in, but we´ll see. He´s a lovely sort and a promising sprinter.”
