Another BDS-bred winner as Decorated Knight 4yo Zain Nights wins well

24 August 2023

Hardy campaigner Zain Nights became the second Blue Diamond-bred to score in as many days when turning in a career-best to win at Goodwood on Friday evening.

By our multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight, Zain Nights appeared to appreciate the step up to two miles to power clear for a two-length win under Callum Sheppard.

It was the gelding's third win for owner Asaad Al Banwan and trainers Roger and Harry Charlton, and follows hot on the heels of fellow homebred Lahab, who won easily at Chepstow on Thursday. Our homebred star Nashwa also ran a terrific race to finish second in the Group 1 Juddmonte International at York on Wednesday.

Zain Nights was bred by Blue Diamond Stud out of Missy O'Gwaun, a King's Best mare from Neil Jones' famous Millenary family who is also the dam of Listed winner Fourhometwo, a stand-our runner for our former Gimcrack Stakes hero Ajaya.
