Ajaya colt Fourhometwo impressive at Galway

Blue Diamond Stud’s purple patch continued on Sunday with the win of Fourhometwo in the 7f maiden at the Galway Festival.
Sent off the 6/4 favourite following a promising second on debut at Gowran Park, Fourhometwo was always travelling well in the hands of Shane Kelly and wasn’t hard pressed to kick clear and win by almost three lengths.
“Fourhometwo would appreciate better ground but he’s hardy and has improved from his first run,” said Shane Kelly. “I would say there’s more improvement in him. He showed a very good attiude and I would say he’s not a bad one.”
Trained by Johnny Murtagh on behalf of the Any Excuse For A Holiday Syndicate, the colt is another first-crop winner for our homebred Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes winner Ajaya. Bred by the stud out of Nessina, Ajaya stood at Rathbarry Stud in Ireland.
Fourhometwo is the fourth living foal out of Missy O’Gwaun, a winning King’s Best sister to Japanese Group 3 winner Cosmo Meadow. Missy O’Gwaun is also a half-sister to Group 2 Prix Guillaume d’Ornano winner Knight To Behold and from the well known Neil Jones family of Millenary.
Missy O’Gwaun also has a yearling colt from the first crop of our multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight and a filly foal by Siyouni. She returned to Decorated Knight this year.
