2015 in review; Nessina crowned ‘Mare of the Month’ by International Thoroughbred

August was a particularly memorable month for Blue Diamond Stud thanks to the victory of homebred Ajaya in the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes at York. The colt defeated subsequent Mill Reef hero Ribchester to claim the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes at York with Raucous back in third, thus meaning Blue Diamond Stud were responsible for breeding two of the first three home.
His victory led to his dam, Nessina, being crowned ‘Mare Of The Month’ by International Thoroughbred Magazine.
Ajaya, by Invincible Spirit, is the first foal out of Nessina, a Hennessy half-sister to Listed winner Tantina, herself dam of the top-class pair Cityscape and Bated Breath. Nessina has a two-year-old colt by Oasis Dream, a yearling colt by Mastercraftsman and is in foal to Dansili – sire of Bated Breath.
She is due to visit Fastnet Rock in 2016.
