BDS-bred Luke Short strikes again

31 July 2020

Luke Short, bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad al Sagar at Blue Diamond Stud, returned to winning ways in emphatic style on Friday when winning the Racing Academy Apprentice Rated Race at Leopardstown.

Trained by Noel Meade, Luke Short won a competitive nursery at Naas last year and was impressive on this occasion, kicking clear for a near three-length success under Danny Sheehan.

Making Luke Short’s win all the more notable is the fact he is a son of our stallion Sayif, winner of the Group 2 Diomed Stakes at Ascot.

Luke Short was bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar out of Acclamare, an Acclamation half-sister to Listed winner Bold Thady Quill and the Listed-placed Willytheconqueror. She descends directly from champion Sookera and therefore hails from the further family of blue hen Hasili.
