€66,000 colt caps big week at Goffs for Decorated Knight
19 November 2019
A successful week at Goffs for Decorated Knight concluded on Tuesday with the sale of a colt out of Nazli for €66,000 to Hillwood Bloodstock.
Bred by La Fabbrica Delle Candele Sas and sold through Whitethorn Bloodstock, the colt is a half-brother to our promising two-year-old Striking Approach, who has been placed on his only start for Roger Charlton. They are out of Nazli, an unraced sister to Listed winner Lethal Promise.
With that, Decorated Knight ends the sale with an average of close to €37,000.
Other sale highlights include:
A filly out of Aniarnota; bought for €50,000
A colt out of Belova; bought for €30,000
A filly out of Fol O’Yasmine; bought for €28,000
Decorated Knight won eight races including the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup and Group 1 Jebel Hatta. By Galileo, he is out of Pearling, a sister to Giant’s Causeway.
“I have complete belief in Decorated Knight,” Imad Al Sagar explained to the Racing Post on Monday. “He’s a very special horse with a very special pedigree – his close relation Gleneagles is one of the most successful progeny of Galileo so it’s a stallion’s family.
“I myself have sent him 28 mares and we have some very nice foals. You can see his stamp on them – they’re similar to what he was like as a foal.
“If I don’t believe in him, why should others? Now I have to choose the trainers carefully to give him the maximum possibility of success.”
Decorated Knight stands at the Irish National Stud for €9,000.
