Blue-blooded arrivals at Blue Diamond Stud
10 May 2017
New arrivals by Frankel, Australia, Golden Horn, Gleneagles and Muhaarar have been among the highlights of a busy few weeks at Blue Diamond Stud.
The stud is now home to three foals by the legendary Frankel following new arrivals for Maid To Master and Nouriya. Maid To Master, a sister to Mastercraftsman, foaled a colt on March 23 and returns to Frankel while Listed winner Nouriya foaled a filly on April 5. The daughter of Danehill Dancer, who has hit the ground running at stud as the dam of our dual Listed winner Aljazzi, now goes to Golden Horn.
Golden Horn himself is the sire of a colt out of our smart racemare Alfajer who was born on April 19. Alfajer, a Listed-placed daughter of Mount Nelson, visits Acclamation next.
Another Derby winner, Coolmore’s Australia, is the sire of a chestnut colt out of our winning homebred Azenzar. Born on April 5, he is our second Australia foal of the year following a colt out of Princess Noor and is from the further family of champion Alexander Goldrun. Meanwhile, Azenzar’s dam Dashing is dam of a smart filly by Zoffany foaled on April 3, and heads to War Command.
Azenzar visits now Gleneagles, himself the sire of a colt out of Kingsgate Native’s half-sister Native Picture born on April 26.
Another particularly exciting arrival is a three-parts brother to our high-class sprinter Justineo from the first crop of champion sprinter Muhaarar. Born on May 1, he is the ninth foal out of Listed winner Loulwa, a half-sister to high-class sprinter Galeota. Loulwa is slated to visit Invincible Spirit – another fast member of the Green Desert line – this season while her winning daughter Elhaam goes to Ajaya having recently foaled a filly by Mastercraftsman.
Mastercraftsman is also the sire of a bay filly out of Ellbeedee, a relation to Just The Judge and High Heeled whose first foal Bournemouth Belle was Listed-placed for Richard Hannon. Ellbeedee’s next cover is to Dansili.
Fairy Bridge Stakes winner Lady Wingshot, meanwhile, is the dam of a bay filly by Zoffany foaled on March 29. The filly is the third foal out of the Iffraaj mare, one of the jewels of our broodmare band who has been accepted into Dubawi’s book this year.
Hopes will also be high for Ajaya’s half-brother by Fastnet Rock, who was foaled on April 30. The colt is the fifth foal out of Nessina, a half-sister to the dam of Bated Breath and Cityscape who was quick to get off the mark at stud as the dam of Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes winner Ajaya in her first season at stud. Nessina is set for a return visit to Fastnet Rock.
Also bred to be quick are a pair of Kodiac youngsters in a filly out of Island Dreams, who is a half-sister to recent winner Mr Khalid born on March 29, and a colt out of Luluti born on April 8. Similar comments apply also to a Showcasing colt out of Keep Dancing born on April 22. Keep Dancing, a half-sister to high-class juvenile Alhebayeb, will now be covered by Bated Breath.
As for Island Dreams, she goes next to Fastnet Rock while Luluti is set for War Command. War Command himself is sire of a colt out of Ragda, born on March 30.
We’re also pleased to continue supporting Sayif, sire of our smart colt Gulliver. The stud has welcomed four smart arrivals by the stallion in recent weeks, namely colts out of Acclamare, proven producer Epiphany and Sole Power’s relation Rasha, and a filly out of Usem. The latter is a sister to Sayem, a smart winner for Ed Walker last season. Usem, a daughter of the fast Ripples Maid, now goes to Acclamation.
